Welcome to Potter's Clay Academy!
Join us for engaging Bible-based science classes designed for young learners in PreK4 through 2nd grade. These classes are held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in a cozy home setting in central Gainesville.
The sessions are led by an experienced and certified K-9 math and science teacher, ensuring a nurturing and educational environment where your child can explore the wonders of God's creation through science!
Curriculum
We will be using the curriculum Science in the Beginning By: Dr. Jay L. Wile. It is a hands-on, multilevel elementary resource that introduces scientific concepts through the days of creation. Topics covered include light, energy conservation, air and water, botany, the solar system, zoology, and aspects of human anatomy and physiology. We will NOT be covering Old Earth vs New Earth debates but parents are welcome and encouraged to discuss their beliefs with their children!
We will also be utilizing project based learning which will involve field trips to places around Gainesville at the start of every unit in order to give students background knowledge and life experiences that will anchor and facilitate learning. Parents must be available to help chaperone these fields. We acknowledge that all families may not be available for all field trips but all efforts be made to ensure that these field trip dates and times are as accessible to as many families as possible!
